To consider the factors that influence mental wellbeing, explore tips for building resilience, further accessing support and the developing role of Health & Wellbeing Champions within dental practice in secure settings

Objectives
  • Develop an understanding of mental health and resilience and explore the factors that impact on stress and coping in secure dental settings.
  • Consider the concept of mental capital and ‘five ways to wellbeing being’ in supporting mental health and wellbeing.
  • Signpost to further sources of support and help.
  • Provide an understanding of the developing role of Health & Wellbeing Champions
Learning outcomes

Participants will:

  • Gain an understanding of mental wellbeing and resilience and the factors that impact on coping & resilience.
  • Be able to describe the concept of mental capital and ‘five ways to wellbeing being’ and how they provide support for mental health and     wellbeing.
  • Develop knowledge about how to access structured help and support for mental wellbeing and managing stress,
  • Understand the role of Mental Health & Wellbeing champions and consider the contribution the role could make within secure dental  settings.
