DCT2/3 STUDY SESSION- Restorative Management of Head&Neck Cancer (NWDCT23220420P)

This study day is for DCT2/3s in HEENW only.

Mandatory: Dental Core Trainee Year 2/3

To provide an overview of head and neck cancer and its contemporary management, the patient’s journey and the role of primary care within this.

-To appreciate the aetiology and presentation of head and neck cancers

-To understand how to refer a patient with a suspicious lesion and how the referral pathway works

- To understand the patient journey from diagnosis to long term follow up and the multi-disciplinary team involved in their management

- To understand the early and long term sequalae of head and neck cancers

- To understand their role in managing such patients
