The course fee for this event is £150.00 per person, which includes: a practical session and consumables, a sandwich lunch and refreshments. Places on this course are limited to 20 and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The course closing date is Wednesday 16th May 2018.

Aims

To give an overview of dental pain and whether to extract or not. You will be given methods on assessment of teeth requiring extraction and how potential complications can be recognised and avoided. You will be given the opportunity to practise your suturing skills and given guidance on developing your skills. In addition, you will have the opportunity to discuss any challenging cases that you bring with you.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Assess patients prior to dental extractions
  • Predict and manage common complications
  • Undertake basic suturing techniques
  • Describe a management plan for patients with dentofacial infections
  • Identify when and how to refer to specialist practice
