  • To give an overview of the management of challenging cases in the mixed dentition. This will include case-based discussion of cases including management of 6s with poor prognosis, ectopic and traumatised teeth. It will advise delegates on appropriate clinical pathways and when referral to secondary/tertiary care may be appropriate. Delegates will also have the opportunity to discuss any challenging cases they bring with them.
Learning outcomes

  • Assess patients in the mixed dentition
  • Select the appropriate clinical pathway for suitable patient care
  • Identify where early intervention may be required
  • Explain when and how to refer to specialist centres
