Aims

To raise awareness of the GDC's Enhanced CPD scheme and promote increased understanding of the role of learning and reflective practice to meet the new requirements.

Objectives

Discuss with colleagues the essential elements of the Enhanced CPD scheme, including supported self- assessment, creating a personal development plan, completing a professional portfolio and completing an activity log.

Consider ways to create an effective Personal Development Plan.

Share ideas about the importance of reflective practice within the new scheme.

Learning outcomes

participants will be able to;

  • Begin the reflective process necessary to compile an effective Personal Development Plan and professional portfolio.
  • complete the activity log following engagement with CPD.
  • Discuss the enhanced CPD requirements with members of their team unable to attend the event, so that all team members are able to support one another in meeting the revised requirements.
