Aims
  • To allow delegates to understand where periodontal surgery fits within the disease management cycle and what techniques are available
  • This allows delegates to understand how crown lengthening is done and how it can facilitate more predictable restorative treatments.
Objectives
  • Increase awareness of periodontal surgery and its role
  • Increase awareness and surgical skills in crown lengthening
Learning outcomes

Delegates will:

  • Have a better understanding of when periodontal surgery may be appropriate and what techniques are available
  • Have practiced raising full thickness flaps, bone removal and suturing
  • Delegates will have had practical experience of crown lengthening, a transferable skill for surgical extractions
