To discuss the career pathway in Paediatric Dentistry – what is expected at national recruitment. To discuss the management of common Paediatric Dental presentations such as dental trauma.

To discuss and identify within the developing dentition what to look for, when to look for it and where to refer to for Orthodontic advice. To further knowledge of multi-disciplinary treatment Orthodontic treatment

Objectives

To have an understanding of the Paediatric Dental career pathway and to refresh DCTs knowledge regarding the management of the child patient.

To refresh the GDP with knowledge about the developing dentition and occlusal anomalies that may be present during clinical examination.

Learning outcomes

To be able to manage common dental problems in the child patient and to understand the career pathway in Paediatric Dentistry

To be able to identify anomalies during the dental development and occlusion.

To know what to look for, when to look for it and where to refer.

To be updated on MDT in general dental practice.
