  • To discuss the presentation and treatment of dental trauma in the primary, mixed and young permanent dentition.
  • To discuss safeguarding in the context of traumatic dental injuries.
Objectives
  • Review the role of safeguarding and what signs to look for when considering NAI.
  • Consider some techniques in patient management to allow treatment to be undertaken.
Learning outcomes
  • Ability to recognise and diagnoses differing injuries to the primary, secondary and mixed detention.
  • Awareness of the best protocol for management and how to optimise outcomes.
  • Awareness of safeguarding recognition and response.
