Description | This course is a second part of the dental acupuncture course for delegates who have attended the foundation course. Combination of both theory and practical hands on elements will enable delegates to deepen their knowledge and confidence in practicing dental acupuncture safely. Delegates will also enhance treatment planning and needling skills for conditions of head and neck area such as Xerostomia, TMJ related migraines, atypical facial pain and burning mouth syndrome | ||
Additional information | This session can only be booked by delegates who attended the dental acupuncture foundation course. Registration from 9 am. This session includes a practical element in which you will have the opportunity to practice acupuncture needling. Important information for Dental Nurses: It has been brought to our attention that not all indemnity providers are able to offer cover for dental nurses practicing acupuncture under the prescription of a dentist. If you are attending this course with the intention of being able to practice acupuncture within the dental setting it may be advisable that you check with your indemnity provider before attending. | ||

Aims | Practical hands on session and lecture for treatment planning for conditions affecting the head and neck region | ||
Objectives | This course briefly reviews the theoretical and practical knowledge that each delegate gained during their Foundation training in Dental Acupuncture and then further builds upon this. Treatment planning for more advanced conditions affecting the head and neck region will be covered with practical needling of acupuncture points in groups of 2 or 3 people. For example: • Headache and migraine in relation to TMJ pain • Atypical facial pain • Burning Mouth Syndrome • Xerostomia | ||
