Aims

To emphasise the benefits of 'whole team' working within a paediatric dental team.

Objectives
  • Recognise the role of dental nurses, dental therapists, and dental technicians within the paediatric dental team
  • Gain insight into how DCPs use behaviour management skills when working with children
  • Recognition of additional skills and courses for DCPs working with children
  • Demonstrate the importance of teamwork in Paediatric Dentistry within different settings including primary care, CDS and secondary/tertiary care.
  • Understand BSPD membership benefits for the whole dental team.
Learning outcomes

Following the session delegates will have a greater understanding of the benefits of utilising the skills of the whole team and will be able to apply this in their practice.
