  • To provide contextualized role for FDs in orthodontic management of their patients.
  • To provide a structured summary of the treatment available, referral pathways and basic understanding of orthodontic treatment modalities.
Objectives

Using a small amount of didactic information along with interaction using study models and photos of real cases, orthodontic care will be given an overview.

Learning outcomes

After the session, the delegates should have a greater understanding of their role in the orthodontic management of their patient including

  • Advise for those requiring referral
  • Appreciation of the relation between orthodontic and general dental management.
  • A knowledge of referral pathways
  • Improved care for patients undergoing orthodontic treatment.
