Aims

To review and refresh delegates knowledge and skills in the performance of intra-oral and extra-oral dental radiography

Objectives

To improve or reinforce the standards of radiography undertaking dental practice sin order to allow delegates to comply with IR(ME)R in that they will be producing the best possible images.

Learning outcomes
  1. Understand the underlying principles of image formation
  2. Know the advantages of paralleling versus bisecting angle techniques and fully understand imaging geometry
  3. To be able to correctly place film holders to make best use of the advantages offered by the paralleling technique
  4. Gain a full understanding of the reason for setting certain parameters for OPG examinations and identify faults produced by the failure to correctly set these parameters.
