Aims | To update the attendees on the modern concepts and management in both periodontics and endodontics. To refresh the attendees knowledge on the stages of development of the dentition and the role of orthodontics in its management. Supplementary aim of explaining the orthodontic training pathway. | ||
Objectives | 1. To discuss the role of the host response and biofilm disruption, current population trends and contemporaneous treatment techniques in periodontology. 2. To understand the basis of endodontic infections, review current management techniques of endodontic infections and review current materials available. 3. To understand the role of the GDP in the orthodontic management of the developing patient. | ||
Learning outcomes | 1. Be aware of the periodontal disease prevalence, potential role in systematic conditions and contemporaneous management. 2. Understand the rationale of the various endodontic treatments and how they aim to promote healing. 3. Know the stages of development and clinical signs of complications so as to be able to refer appropriately. | ||
