To make people aware of the issue of health literacy and enable them to better support patients

Flexible Commissioning

To consider the opportunities of flexible dental commissioning in the context of the developing Integrated Care Systems.

Objectives

Health Literacy

  • Define what health literacy is and why it is important
  • Recognise what low health literacy looks and feels like
  • Identify the impact of low health literacy on an individuals’ health and impact on the on the NHS?
  • Discuss digital health literacy
  • Introduce tools & techniques that can help support people with low health literacy

Flexible Commissioning 

  • understand what is Flexible Dental Commissioning
  • understand opportunities and how will Flexible Commissioning support working in an Integrated Care System
  • Examine how flexible commissioning could impact on Oral Health delivery and Oral Health Teams
  • Discuss what can we learn from Flexible Dental Commissioning delivery across the North West
