Aims

To provide the dental champion with the necessary skills, knowledge and competence to engage the dental team in delivering the Healthy Living Dentistry Agenda

Objectives
  • Utilise Delivering Better Oral Health to assist with the HLD dentistry programme
  • Assist with communication and implementing brief advice and referral pathways
  • Adopt a model for planning, implementing and evaluating campaigns within the practice
  • Discuss examples of engaging the dental team on how to share key health messages so they are relevant, consistent and delivered within the HLD agenda.
  • Register and complete the RSPH examination.
  • Describe the stages of organisation and delivery of the HLD programme
  • Contribute to the action plan; discuss examples of evidence and how the levels may be achieved.
Learning outcomes
  • Delegates will be proficient in delivering and promoting the healthy living messages to patients and the team within the dental practice.
  • Champion will co-ordinate the Healthy Living activities within the practice
