DescriptionWe welcome you to our undergraduate oral and poster presentation prize evening. We will have 10 oral presentations encompassing a range of dental topics. These will include the presentation and management of dental traumatic injuries, dental anomalies, safeguarding, medical conditions/syndromes as well as a focus on intensive preventative techniques. Recent clinical governance and research projects will be described. There will be a range of poster presentations covering a variety of paediatric dental cases.

Aims

To present a range of paediatric dental topics including common presentation and management of traumatic dental injuries, dental anomalies, medical co-morbidities and dental neglect.

Objectives
  • To highlight common presentations to the paediatric dentist and describe management of these cases
  • To describe the management of complex endodontic cases including root end closure and the warm vertical condensation technique
  • To illustrate common medical presentations in the paediatric dental patient
  • To give an overview of relevant clinical governance and research projects
Learning outcomes

Following this evening, the delegate will:

  •  Be able to describe the presentation of common traumatic dental injuries and their management
  •  Have an appreciation of common dental anomalies and appropriate timing for intervention
  •  Have knowledge of complex endodontic procedures
  •  Have an understanding of common medical conditions and how they may affect dental treatment
  •  Have knowledge of recent clinical governance and research projects
