For dental teams to gain awareness and knowledge of the position and arrangements for dentistry within the GM devolution arrangements

Current Trends in Recreating teeth with direct composite resin restorations

To enable the GDP to restore anterior and posterior teeth with composites in a predictable and consistent manner.

“How Do You Know You Are Safeguarding Children and Adults in Your Practice?”

he session aims to support you as Dental Services and Dental Care professionals to consider the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and fulfil your statutory roles and responsibilities.

Mental Capacity and the Dental Team

This session will cover the principles of the MCA and give an overview of capacity assessment

Objectives

An introduction to Devo. Manc.

  • To present GM devolution structure, and where dentistry and oral health sits within this.
  • To describe current programmes of work supporting dentistry
  • To challenge teams in how they deliver care for the population of GM

Current Trends in Recreating teeth with direct composite resin restorations

  1. Overview of different bonding agents
  2. How to restore anterior and posterior teeth predictably with incremental build up techniques
  3. Shade taking of complex teeth in the anterior zone
  4. Overview of matrices and lining materials for class II cavities
  5. Current thinking on lining materials

  • Understanding of the GM structure and system
  • Awareness of how dental services fit within wider provision of care within GM

“How Do You Know You Are Safeguarding Children and Adults in Your Practice?”

At the end of the session you will:

  • Understand why it is important that Dentists and Dental Care professionals need to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
  • Enhance your safeguarding knowledge appropriate to Dentists and Dental Care Professionals
  • Understand the government’s national priorities for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
  • Have explored practical ideas for preparing for CQC Inspections

Current Trends in Recreating teeth with direct composite resin restorations

  1. Overview of different bonding agents
  2. Current thinking on lining materials with composites
  3. Be able to restore anterior an posterior teeth predictably
  4. Use of composites and sequencing treatment for complex cases

Mental Capacity and the Dental Team

  1. Define the terms Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty
  2. Identify the five core principles of the MCA
  3. Describe how mental capacity is assessed
