Additional information

Damian O’Connor graduated from Manchester University in 1980. He is currently a trainer on the Chester DFT Scheme and also a part-time Clinical Teaching Fellow at Manchester School of Dentistry. Damian teaches on the Restorative Clinic and also in the Clinical Skills Facility. He is heavily involved in symposia and end of year assessments.

He has had major input to the design of the new curriculum and enjoys helping the final year students collate their summaries of final year treated patient cases.

His special interests are in Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics, Adhesive Dentistry and Dental Implants

Aims
  • To introduce to FDs a topic which is now facing and taxing GDPs in everyday practice
  • To give FDs an insight into the various treatment planning criteria for the ageing dentition and to look for alternatives to some more complex treatment options
Objectives
  • A current overview of this difficult area which, with an ageing population, is presenting the dentist with new and more challenging procedures and treatment planning
