DescriptionThe Certificate in Dental Sedation Nursing is a qualification suitable for qualified and GDC registered dental nurses who assist in the surgery during routine conscious sedation
Additional information

In order to achieve your target for the NEBDN Record of Experience, (The NEBDN have advised that RoE requirements are subject to change and will advise the training Centre of this change in due course, the proposed changes had not been received at the time of producing this flyer ) you will be required to assist in the care of 25 patients who have received conscious sedation. You will, therefore, be expected to regularly assist in the care of the sedated patient; this will usually be in your own dental clinic/practice.

If you do not assist in the care of sedated patients within your practice, we advise you to organise attendance at other sedation practices prior to registering for this course. Frequent access to managing patients under nitrous oxide inhalation sedation and IV midazolam sedation is essential. The Dental School cannot arrange for this chair side clinical experience.

 

　

Course Fee

The course fee, which covers attendance at all 6 study days, is £710.00. However, if the practice/clinic, in which you are employed, treats predominately NHS patents and is located within the boundaries of Health Education North West a subsidy of £210.00 will be made towards your course fee by the Health Education North West. This will reduce the fee to £500.00.

The course fee payable to the University for this Course does not include the NEBDN examination fee of approximately £175.00 (NEBDN have advised this fee is to be increased and will advise the Training Centre once the new fee amount has been calculated).
