To be familiar with ethical principles and the modern requirements of professionals in today’s society.

Objectives
  • Understand the ethical issues in relation to consent, confidentiality, autonomy, harm and paternalism
  • Refresh the relevant ethical underpinning
  • Explore the balance and dilemmas between business and professional ethics

Following the session participants will:

  • Discuss the ethical theories of Deontology, Utilitarianism, Virtue Ethics and Principlism
  • Have applied those theories to autonomy, consent, confidentiality and harm
  • Describe the balance between business ethics and professional ethics
