Aims

The overall aim is for personnel from all levels of the organisation to understand the basic principles of risk assessment so they can contribute to the risk assessment process within their own working environment.

Objectives
  • Appreciate the main causes of accidents/ill-health and their implications for people at work, and how risk assessment links to accident prevention
  • State the key legal requirements for risk assessment under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and identify areas of non-compliance within your own organisation
  • Demonstrate the principles of risk assessment by using a range of methods and record the outcomes
Learning outcomes

Participants who complete the course and achieve the required standard will be awarded the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment
