Aims
  • To provide appropriate information to facilitate early diagnosis of oral cancer and the Dental teams' role throughout the patient's journey from referral to rehabilitation.
Objectives
  • Identify Oral pre malignant conditions
  • State the referral procedures and next steps
  • Provide an insight into rehabilitation on strategies for all Head and Neck patients including those who receive chemotherapy and radiotherapy
  • Discuss the GDP and Dental Team’s role, before, during and post treatment
  • Develop insight into the patients journey before, during and post treatment
  • Demonstrate practical knowledge of the oral cancer toolkit
  • Identify organisations which support patients and the dental team.
Learning outcomes
  • Delegates will have an awareness of the patient’s journey throughout their treatment and have insight into referral procedures to support early diagnosis.
