A session from Dr Christopher Rice, Dr Steven Korb and Dr Andrew Crosby about guidance on best practice of record keeping, delivering better oral health toolcare and to look at the latest FGDP guidelines for general practitioners in primary care in relation to record keeping and examination.

Some record keeping examples will be looked at as well as looking at some templates used to score records.

Lastly a light short quiz will be held.

  • To assist Foundation Dentists become better acquainted with the latest guidance in relation to record keeping and in particular introduce them to A, B, C grading system as set out in the 3rd edition of the FGDP Publication Clinical Examination and Record Keeping

  • To assist Foundation Dentists refresh on the reasons for maintaining high quality records, what constitutes a good dental record and what the potential consequences of failure to maintain good dental records might be
Learning outcomes
  • Participants will become aware of their obligations with regards to record keeping and best practice standards.
  • The Foundation Dentist will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the FGDP Publication Clinical examination and Record Keeping, 3rd Edition including the grading system as well as its implications.
