Aims
  • To welcome and familiarise the FDs with the Education Centre and Dental Foundation Programme.
  • To inform the FDs of the ground rules applying to the DFT programme and inform them of the detailed course content and the aims and objectives of the DFT year.
  • To get to know each other.
  • Have an opportunity to chat to two previous year’s FD’s.
  • Ask any questions they have about the year ahead.
Objectives
  • Be familiar with the Foundation programme and HEENW paperwork.
  • Identify and utilize resources both electronically and within the Education Centre.
  • The FD’s will be clearly focused and have good sound knowledge of ground rules applying to the year both in the practice and on the day release course.
  • Allow them opportunity to get to know each other better.
  • Allow them opportunity to speak to a previous year’s FD.
  • They will be familiar with the Education Centre.
Learning outcomes
  • Know what is expected of them to complete the FD year.
  • Have a full understanding of the ground rules.
  • Have all their questions answered.
  • Feel that they are welcome on the scheme.
