Aims

To discuss challenges faced in primary care for the delivery of endodontic treatment and to suggest techniques to help simplify treatment of both emergencies and routine treatment where possible.

Objectives
  • Revise assessment of endodontic problems which may present
  • Revisit the management of problems in relation to current protocols
  • Discuss techniques to help simplify treatment where possible
Learning outcomes

Following the session participants should be able to:

  • Identify different emergency scenarios that may occur in primary care
  • Use simple techniques to aid diagnosis and treatment
  • Understand the guidance for endodontic management, specific to current recommendations
  • Provide safe and effective treatment of acute endodontic issues and follow up care.
