You must be booked onto this course to attend otherwise you may be turned away on the night.

Please could you start the pre course Audit https://www.dental-referrals.org/dentists/amr-audit/ before attending this course. You will be required to complete 10 prescriptions to complete the audit cycle.

Practices will receive partial payment of £100 when you register for the Audit and completion of Antibiotic Guardian Pledge. Copy of the Pledge certificates from one practitioner and one DCP per practice should be sent to Vicky Lowe at NHS England, Chester (v.lowe1@nhs.net)

Aims
  • To provide an overview of the National/Local AMR agenda, Antibiotic guardianship and an opportunity to discuss the implications in primary dental care
Objectives
  • Have an understanding of the AMR toolkit
  • Consider alternatives to antibiotic prescribing
  • Implement changes to meet guidance recommendations, if required
  • Raise public awareness of the dangers associated with over use of antibiotics
  • Support practitioners in reviewing their current antibiotic prescribing to ensure best practice guidance is being followed
Learning outcomes
  • Enable practices to comply with requirements of the Health and Social Care Act 2008, code of practice on the prevention and control of infection, together with any future CQC requirements, related to the revised 2015 document
  • Have a point of contact for any queries that may arise
  • Have AMR knowledge allowing for reflection and further educational opportunities if required
