Mandatory: Dental Core Trainee Year 1

Enable a primary care dentist and a junior secondary care dentist to assess and appropriately manage patients presenting with Maxillofacial trauma

- Overview of Maxillofacial trauma and its causes

- Presentation in primary care and Secondary care

- Assessment of patient suspected of Maxillofacial trauma

- Referral pathway for patients with Maxillofacial trauma

- Secondary care Management and treatment of Maxillofacial trauma

- Follow up and long-term complications of Maxillofacial trauma

_{- Primary and secondary care dentist is able to recognise a patient that may have Maxillofacial injury from trauma.}

_{- Primary care dentist/doctor is able to appropriately referral to secondary care a patient that may have Maxillofacial injury from trauma.} 

_{- Secondary care dentist is able to work up and arrange for a patient to undergo treatment for Maxillofacial trauma.}
