DescriptionThis course focuses on reinforcing best practices in Central Venous Access. For the current inserter, the program provides an opportunity to enhance practical skills and knowledge. For new inserters, it will provide a foundation that includes basic education on techniques for access, ultrasound assessment and guidance for central venous catheter placement, and discussion of procedural complexities designed to improve patient outcomes. The skills lab component focuses on patient assessment and access including best practices for insertion and ultrasound guidance. Simulation stations allow for simulated practice supervised by a qualified instructor. Our international faculty of Professors and leading consultants will review the expectations and objectives for each station, perform demonstrations, and work with participants until their proficiency and comfort is established.
