Description: This is a one day simulation course for IMT1-2 trainees designed to challenge them on the management of acutely unwell medical patients. There will be a focus on both technical and non-technical factors.  This is a very popular course with a limited number of available places. If you book on to the course, please attend. If you are unable to attend please cancel with enough notice for one of your peers to book. Although there is no cost to you for attending, if you are booked on, the school of medicine is charged a fee whether you attend or not. For this reason, if you book the course and do not attend (without good reason) or cancel then you will not be eligible to book on again in the future. Description: This course is intended for Regional (not Trust) ST4+ trainees who are singly or dually accrediting in Internal Medicine Training (IMT) Stage 2. Trainees are reminded that the Postgraduate School of Medicine fully funds one place on this course for each trainee during IMT Stage 2 training. Additional attendance at the course is permitted but will normally be self-funded unless prior agreement has been obtained from the Educational Supervisor (ES) and/or Training Programme Directors (TPDs), for example where required for ARCP purposes. Payment arrangements should be made either prior to or following attendance, as advised. Where trainees have already attended a funded place, further bookings may be escalated to the TPDs. Late cancellations may leave funded places unfilled and prevent other trainees from attending. Any cancellation with less than one week’s notice, except in extenuating circumstances, will be reported to the TPD and may be discussed with the Educational Supervisor to ensure appropriate follow-up and promote responsible use of limited training resources.

The course has been created and designed specifically for the cohort of trainees who approach the last year of their CCT, as stated in the most recent IMT stage 2 curriculum specifying at least 4 hours of simulation training in the final year of IMS2.
