It is a full day course which includes simulation-based emergency scenarios you may encounter whilst on-call as well as a refresher on procedures expected of the medical registrar including ascitic paracentesis, pleural aspirate and ICD and central venous access with opportunity to practice these skills in a lab-based setting No additional text has been set.

There will be a focus on both technical and non-technical factors.  This is a very popular course with a limited number of available places. If you book on to the course, please attend. If you are unable to attend please cancel with enough notice for one of your peers to book. Although there is no cost to you for attending, if you are booked on, the school of medicine is charged a fee whether you attend or not. For this reason, if you book the course and do not attend (without good reason) or cancel then you will not be eligible to book on again in the future.
