Lecturer profileAnne Hegarty qualified in Dentistry at the Dublin Dental Hospital, Trinity College Dublin. She worked in her own successful general dental practice for a number of years and spent six months working in community dentistry in Australia and later in the UK.

She gained her MSc in Oral Medicine with distinction from UCL (2000), MFD RCSI (2001) and medical degree from King’s College Medical School London (2005). She was appointed specialist registrar in Oral Medicine at the Eastman Dental Hospital, London in 2006 and appointed Consultant in Oral Medicine at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, Sheffield in 2009 where she currently works full time. She is currently Training Programme Director for Oral Medicine, MJDF Examiner and an Examiner for the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examinations in Oral Medicine.

She has taught and lectured in Oral Medicine worldwide including England, Wales, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, China, Kuwait and Portugal.

Lecturer profileDr Keith Hunter is Reader in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the University Of Sheffield, UK. He completed his PhD at the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research (Glasgow) and following and the completion of clinical training was appointed as Senior Clinical Lecturer and Consultant Histopathologist at the University of Glasgow. He moved to the University of Sheffield in 2009. He is an experienced teacher at undergraduate and postgraduate level and regularly takes seminars updating the dental team on oral cancer and precancer.
