To introduce the level 2 training programme and expectations of the course and review examination and treatment planning of the special care patient

Objectives

To discuss the structure and expectations of the training programme, and requirements of a Level 2 dentist

To review examination and treatment planning of the special care dentistry patient

To cover prevention for the special care patient and their carers

Learning outcomes

To identify patients that are suitable for treatment by Level 2 clinicians in special care dentistry

To be able to complete comprehensive history taking and examinations of special care dentistry patients

To be able to formulate treatment plans based on individual assessments of special care patients, to include prevention.
