Aims

To provide an overview of current developments in dental postgraduate training within Yorkshire and the Humber and share best practice

Objectives
  1. To update delegates on the current work of the Office of the Chief Dental Officer.
  2. To explore the advantages and challenges for neurodivergent dentists
  3. To provide an update on the Dental Education Reform Programme.
  4. To discuss a number of strategies for enhancing the quality of trainees reflection and reflective writing.
  5. To highlight local initiatives including peer review and Level 2 training for Paediatric Dentistry
Learning outcomes
  1. Describe the current work being undertaken by the OCDO.
  2. Learn when to consider neurodiversity as an educational supervisor
  3. Support and provide reasonable adjustments for neurodivergent colleagues
  4. Discuss a range of models and prompt questions for encouraging reflection.
  5. Recognise differences in the quality of examples of reflective writing.
  6. Understand how the Dental Education Reform Programme is being implemented locally.
