Aims

To describe the Flexible Commissioning (FC) TMD supported self-management pathway.

Objectives

To understand best practice for TMD diagnosis and assessment

To be able to identify and place appropriate patients on the FC TMD supported self-management pathway and refer red flag symptoms to secondary care

To be able to work with and support Oral Health Champions (OHC) in implementing supported self-management for patients within the FC TMD pathway.

Learning outcomes

Be aware of the current evidence base around TMD care.

Be able to conduct the TMD assessment.

Be able to place appropriate patients on the FC TMD supported self-management pathway and manage this process with the OHC.
