Aims

This course will strengthen knowledge in paediatric dentistry

Objectives
  • Discuss treatment planning for children including radiographic assessment and how best practice treatment might be affected by patient factors and accordingly modified.
  • Explain some top tips on behaviour management of children and managing parents including consent and issues relating to this.
  • Identify the need to refer when a child requires referral to secondary care and select the pathway and likely outcome following referral.
Learning outcomes
  • Demonstrate increased knowledge on how a treatment plan has been decided upon relative to the clinical and radiographic assessment.
  • Demonstrate increased confidence in skills relating to behaviour management of paediatric patients, and managing consent discussions with their parents.
  • Have insight and gain knowledge into the referral process of patients into secondary care.
