DescriptionThis comprehensive lecture and discussion based course will cover caries and pulp status diagnosis and management of primary teeth. There will also be a workshop to discuss cases and demonstration of how to use preformed metal crowns for restoring carious primary teeth. This course is open to all those who work with children in dentistry.

Aims

To improve the participants knowledge of, and ability to, manage the carious primary dentition including the use of the Hall Technique.


Objectives

1. To review the preventive strategy for the high risk child based on current evidence

2. To equip the participant to select the appropriate restorative material to restore the primary dentition

3. To analyse the evidence for using the Hall Technique

4. To demonstrate placement of a preformed metal crown using the Hall technique

Learning outcomes

By the end of the session all the participants should; –


1. Feel more confident about managing the carious primary dentition.

2. Be able to select the appropriate restorative material and justify the use of preformed metal crowns in the primary dentition using the Hall technique
