Aims

1. To provide an overview of the range of oral mucosal lesions that may present in general dental practice;

2. To provide an awareness of the clinical presentation of oral potentially malignant lesions and oral cancer;

3. To provide an awareness of the diagnostic approach to oral mucosal lesions in specialist oral medicine practice.

Objectives

1. By the end of the course the participants will be able to recognise the mucosal lesions that require an onward referral for specialist assessment;


2. By the end of the course the participants will be able to identify and diagnose malignant lesions and oral cancer that may come across in everyday clinical practice.
