DescriptionThis is a hands on S63 course, in our Clinical Skills Laboratory, Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, by Adrian Watts, "Digital Dental Photography" Adrian will do a basic introduction to macro photography, going back to first principles of close up photography, demonstrate taking dental photographs, help to calibrate your cameras, look at equipment required, and discuss storage, data protection etc... *All delegates must bring along cameras please* This course is mainly aimed at digital SLR cameras, although we welcome all camera users!

Aims
  • Introduce the concept of digital close up photography.
  • Show the photographic equipment and auxillary equipment required to take good dental photographs.
  • Using photographs for patient education, lecturing, case presentation and examination cases.
  • Storage and retrieval of images and medico-legal aspects.
Objectives
  1. At the end of the session participants will have a better idea of how to set up the equipment for dental photography.
  2. Adrian Watts will help calibrate any equipment brought along on the day.
  3. Participants will understand the issues around consent, storage, retrieval, and data protection.
