DescriptionAn assessment of student who have completed the theory part of the fluoride application course and patient log book. After completing this session each student will be signed off as competent to apply fluoride application on a patient from a prescription of their GDP within their own practices

Patient Log work book and have it signed off by their supporting dentist

All students must demonstrate their practical skills whilst being observed by  an examiner

Objectives

Whilst applying topical fluoride the DCP will be able to:

  • Be able to work confidently and competently under the prescription of a GDP
  • Demonstrate good communication skills
  • Be able to demonstrate good infection control skills
  • show an understanding of confidentiality and consent
