Description | A course for Dental Nurses. An extended duty in the GDC scope of practice. A course designed to give Dental Nurses the confidence and competence to apply a disclosing material to a patients teeth and to then record a score using a recognised indicy to help the patient to improve their oral hygiene. |
Additional information | DCPs attending this course will be required to attend an OSCE day 16 weeks later (9.11.13). Only those attending the 1st part will be able to participate in the OSCE. The OSCE is included in the course fee. Criteria of students entering the course, Registered Dental Nurse with the General Dental Council, (evidence needed) In current employment, Have the written support of his/her employer,Evidence of Professional Indemnity cover, Evidence of appropriate up to date CPD (eg BLS, Medical Emergencies), Not all participants will have undertaken a Dental Nurse Training course which has equivalence to NVQ 3. However it is felt that all students will have the ability to engage in the level of work required to successfully complete this course. DCPs attending this course will be expected to take impressions in their place of work and to fill out a record of experience document, cooperation from their Dentist is essential. |
