Lecturer profileMark has been nursing for over 20 years, originally working at the Surrey County Hospital as a Health Care Assistant. He left to study at Southampton University, and qualified as a nurse in 1998. He worked in cardiology and then vascular surgery when he qualified, consolidating his training over an 18 month period. He then worked in the Cardiothoracic and General intensive Care units in Southampton, where he stayed for the next 9 years. He was promoted to Charge Nurse in 2004, and continued in this position until I left Southampton in 2009. He started work at the Emergency Department in Winchester after leaving ICU, and was again promoted to Charge Nurse in 2011. He started working in the resuscitation department at HHFT in 2012, and was promoted to Lead for the service in 2013. As well as being an Advanced Life Support instructor, he is currently studying through the Open University in conjunction with the NHS Leadership Academy for a post graduate diploma in Healthcare Leadership.
