Description | The Head & Neck Cavaderic Dissection Course is run in conjunction with Intuitive surgical and will allow delegates opportunity to be trained in a variety of facets of TORS surgery. These include - Set up of the Da Vinci system, including safety systems and fault management - Port placement and docing - Energy sources - Procedural skills including lateral oropharyngectomy, tongue base mucosectomy, parapharyngeal space dissection, soft palate resection. Alongside this we will deliver 3D virtual reality teaching on transoral anatomy relevant for TORS surgeons, and in conjunction Lynton Lasers delegates will also have opportunity to undertake transoral robotic laser surgery. There will be a course dinner on the evening prior to the course on the Wednesday 6th November 2024. | ||
Additional information | The course is free for Yorkshire and Humber regional trainees. Priority will be given to regional trainees.· · Please read the dissecting room regulations before attending the course. · Surgical gowns, over shoes, facemasks and gloves are provided for the lab. If you wish to wear theatre blues please bring your own and return to your theatres. The course Lead is Mr James Moor Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
