DescriptionThiel embalmed cadavers will be used for anatomy teaching, training in clinical skills and surgical procedures. A maximum of two participants will be assigned to an embalmed cadaver. At the end of the course, the participants will be able to perform rigid and flexible ureteroscopy on Thiel cadavers.
Additional information

· The course is free for Yorkshire and Humber regional trainees. Priority will be given to regional trainees.

· Non regional trainees please apply to CADSIM@LEEDS.AC.UK for availability and course payment details. The course fee is £500.00

· Please read the dissecting room regulations before attending the course.

· Surgical gowns, over shoes, facemasks and gloves are provided for the lab. If you wish to wear theatre blues please bring your own and return to your theatres.

Aims

At the end of the course, the participants will be able to perform rigid and flexible ureteroscopy in the models on Thiel cadavers.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this course participants will be able to:

Describe and choose the appropriate equipment and technique for ureteroscopy. 

Discuss patient selection, information and preparation for each.

Describe the risks, results and complications.

Demonstrate safe and effective basic technique for the above procedures.
