Description | This a 2 day course 6th and 7th July on Basic Neurosurgical Approaches. Course Lead Mr Saurabh Sinha. The practical sessions are operating on thiel embalmed cadavers. Surgical procedures -Craniotomy and Posterior spinal decompression and fusion. Specialist equipment is provided by Stryker for the 2 days | ||
Additional information | The anatomy lab corridor is been run under NHS rules. A face mask must be worn as you enter the University site, you will need to provide your own mask. Please read the dissecting room regulations before attending the course. Additional specialised instrumention is provide by Stryker. Places are also available for theatre practitioner to attend. Aims | To ensure the trainees are comfortable with the anatomy and surgical approaches prior to starting as registrars. | ||
Objectives | Understanding of the anatomy, role of surgery and the pathologies that can be treated. | ||
Learning outcomes | At the end of the course, trainees should be able to start the exposure for any cranial or spinal surgery. | ||
