This a a full day course,  with the practical session in the Anatomy lab from 9:30  to  13:30 the course  goes on til 17:30.  the afternoon session  will be in the board room at the LDI 6th Floor.

Aims

Evidence based assessment and management of TMJ disorders and pathology

To understand the surgical anatomy of the TMJ and transfacial approaches to the mandible

Objectives

Objectives-

To cover the salient aspects of diagnosis and management of TMJ disorders/pathology- Lectures(StR)

Anatomy lab- Step by step dissection of the transfacial approaches to the mandible and TMJ

i)Preauricular including Al-kayat Bramley approach)

ii)Endaural and auricular approach

iii)Transparotid approaches- Retromandibular/Perilobular

iv) TMAP( Trans masseteric anterior parotid )

v) Risdon/Submandibular

vi)Coronal approach

vi) Retromandibular posterior parotid approach *

vii) Retroauricular approach *

Procedures –

i)Discectomy

ii)Temporalis flap

iii)Condylectomy/shave*

iv)Eminectomy/eminoplasty*
