Description This is a 1 day course vascular trainees in the Yorkshire and Humber region. The day will include lectures and surgical skills on thiel cadavers.
Additional information

 The course is free for Yorkshire and Humber regional trainees. The course is open to vascular trainees ST3  and above.

 The course is open for ST5 and above to book now. The Course will open for ST3 and above to book any remaining places from the 16th September.

 Please read the dissecting room regulations before attending the course. Surgical gowns, over shoes, facemasks and gloves are provided for the lab. If you wish to wear theatre blues please bring your own and return to your theatres.

The course Lead is Mr Tim Stansfield, Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust. 

The anatomy lab is on Level 9, Worsley Building, University of Leeds

Learning outcomes

At the end of this teaching day delegates should be able to demonstrate:

1. Access to the abdominal cavity required by a vascular surgeon with associated closure techniques

2. Exposure: SMA exposure, renal vessel exposure. Cattell Braasch including colonic mobilisation. Rutherford Morrison.

3. Manoeuvres: SMA thrombectomy and patch repair. Nephrectomy. Infra renal caval repair.

4. Graft anastomosis: CIA to SMA bypass
