| Aims | To improve knowledge and understanding of Medico legal aspects of Oral Surgery in relation to the Oral Surgery Curriculum |
| Objectives | To understand the role of the legal team in secondary care To be aware of the duties of a coroner To raise awareness of information governance in relation to Oral Surgery To increase awareness of complaints procedures in hospital settings and consent processes |
| Learning outcomes | At the end of the study day trainees will feel more confident in the roles and responsibilities of the legal team within a hospital setting. Trainees will also have more awareness of the coroner’s court and links to our practice. Trainees will be more confident in the use of GDPR on a daily basis and how to consent patients for common Oral Surgery procedures in such a way to avoid risk. |
