Aims

Clarify the purpose and structure of the JDFCT Early Years Training Programme.

Review of Competence Progression (RCP) process, including expectations across primary and secondary care placements.

Equip trainees to use the Early Years e-Portfolio strategically to evidence competence and achieve satisfactory progression in DFT and DCT1.

Objectives

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

Outline the key requirements of the Early Years Curriculum and how these map to RCP outcomes.

Identify the minimum evidence requirements for satisfactory completion of DFT and DCT1.

Explain the RCP process, including timelines, documentation, and panel expectations.

Plan a structured approach to collecting and uploading evidence from both primary and secondary care placements.

Recognise common portfolio pitfalls that lead to delayed or unsatisfactory outcomes.
