Aims

The course will cover the theory and practical aspects of treating caries in the primary dentition as well as treatment planning of more complex cases.

Objectives

The following techniques will be discussed together with putting them into practice in the lab:

  • Rubber dam and local anaesthetic
  • Behaviour management
  • Pulpotomy techniques and medicaments
  • Stainless steel crowns (including conventional and Hall technique)
  • Treatment planning
Learning outcomes
  • Gain further knowledge regarding conventional versus biological management of caries in primary teeth
  • Improve knowledge on restorative materials for restoring primary teeth and the evidence base
  • Have knowledge and skills in providing pulp treatment to primary molars
