Aims

The aim of this course is to discuss and understand the different approaches to manage tooth wear

Objectives
  • Have a clear understanding of the aetiology of non-carious tooth surface loss.
  • Appreciate the different options available to manage tooth surface loss, including the use of full coverage crowns, partial coverage onlays, overdentures and composite resin.
  • Be able to assess and work up a patient with tooth surface loss for treatment with composite resin or an over denture
Learning outcomes
  • Diagnose the cause of tooth surface loss on patients
  • More effectively treat tooth surface loss.
  • Understand the limitations, longevity and maintenance issues relating to the use of composite resin to restore worn teeth.
